Building a Collective for Canadian TTRPG Creators

Canadian Creators United (CCU) was born from a simple but powerful idea: we are stronger together. We are a non-profit, non-hierarchical collective dedicated to supporting, promoting, and connecting independent Canadian tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) creators.

Our mission is to overcome the unique challenges faced by indie designers, from professional isolation and high production costs to navigating a global market and complex regulations like Quebec's Bill 96. By pooling resources, sharing knowledge, and amplifying each other's work, we help Canadian creators thrive both at home and on the world stage.

Why CCU Exists

Many indie creators work in isolation, lacking the shared creative energy and diverse skills needed to fully realize their visions. Canadian creators face additional hurdles, including limited access to conventions, distribution networks, and funding.

CCU provides a supportive community where creators can:

  • Share resources, skills, and opportunities
  • Access collective promotion and event participation
  • Find help facing industry challenges like shipping, language laws, and funding
  • Connect with a trusted network of peers and partners

Our Approach

We are not a union or cooperative. We are a collective. Our structure is built on transparency, mutual support, and respect for creative independence. We operate under a member-defined charter that prioritizes:

  • Collaboration over competition
  • Amplification of Canadian voices and perspectives
  • Inclusivity across language, region, and creative style
  • Non-profit status to ensure credibility and access to grants and funding

Join Us in Building Something Meaningful

We’re here for writers, artists, designers, publishers, and all TTRPG creatives who call Canada home, whether you’re just starting or have been in the industry for years.

We want all Canadian TTRPG and LARP creatives to know that they don’t have to do this all alone. CCU is here to celebrate, support, and amplify your work while respecting your independence.
